The Ubuntu Desktop is a unique mix of Windows XP, Vista and Linux. As the Ubuntu Desktop is based on Ubuntu, you can see that this is a very practical operating system. It's very much like the Ubuntu OS, only without the many different tweaks which make it different from other Linux operating systems.
The first thing you need to do is decide on which operating system you want to use. I have been using Windows since 2020 and still love using it for all my computing needs. So if you're still running Vista, there's no reason why you can't go with Windows.
You may want to choose Windows XP. Even though it's outdated, it's still very popular with the masses. But if you're running Windows 10, there's nothing to lose. Windows 10 comes with all the basic functions that any good Windows system would have and it's just a matter of upgrading to the latest version.
Ubuntu on the other hand is pretty much a “modern” operating system. It features some of the same tools as most modern Windows systems. But they are combined with some of the latest technology which makes them extremely useful.
To start off, you can download a free copy of Windows 10 from the official website. After installing it, you can install Ubuntu by downloading a program called Ubuntu and running it.
When you install it, you can get started by going to the Settings app and choosing Window Manager. It will show you the icons and commands for your desktop. Choose something that looks the most pleasing to you and click OK. Background and select the size and position you want it in.
Next you should go to System Settings and find the Desktop. Click on it and click on the advanced tab. Under the tab of Layouts, choose a theme. I've found that I prefer the dark theme, so I click on it and drag the dock icon around until I get what I want.
On the left side of the tab, go to Appearance and choose the theme you want for the main menu. You'll notice that you have an icon called the task bar. Click on it and drag the side bar and drop in a new icon for it. If you'd rather, you can also change its color or its size.
Finally, go to Tools and click on the Start Up Menu and choose Startup and shutdown. If you're using Windows XP, you will be prompted to restart your computer. You can also choose to open the Control Panel to go to your hardware, software and driver details. These are available in the Startup tab of your Startup and Shut Down menus.
The beauty of this operating system is that you can switch to a full screen Windows whenever you want to, which makes it even easier to get work done. The Unity Dash at the top of the screen is always available when you want to.
